The Biggest JOKE is, that you cannot calibrate an apparatus like a speed-gun or speed measuring equipment at all.
The calibration standard is normally traceable to a national standard held by a national metrological body. Where is the standard held for speed apparatus?
The final measurement to test a speed trap apparatus, is setting up the instrument on a road, in a sequence with other and similar apparatus, then drive past with a motor vehicle (which by the way is the most inaccurate thing to measure speed} and adjust all speeding apparatus to have a similar reading. THEY CALL THIS CALIBRATION!!!
If this is calibration or making the speed-trap apparatus accurate and legal, then I do not see how they can use it to prosecute anyone at all.
Calibration in SA was done by - Sanas in the past, seems they do not exist anymore. They have witnessed against these apparatus and the so called CALIBRATION and in the end refused to give evidence in Court Cases. There reasoning, not the manufacturers of these apparatus, nor the Judicial system want to understand what calibration means
If they want to stop road carnage, they should do more visible policing and stop being High Way Bandits, hiding behind bushes.
Ps. Speed Traps has nothing to do with road safety, if you get the ticket of offense many moons later, you have forgotten WHY! It is a money making RACKET.
Speed does not kill. then all racing DRIVERS should be DEAD. It is IDIOTS behind the wheel that kills. Overtaking on blind spots, passing ques on the skirt of the road, turning from the wrong lanes, skipping read robots, stop street etc.
