I don't much like people. I find it's far easier for me to sit by myself doing something constructive like making music etc. than to go out and socialise.

I don't enjoy it because I hate small talk and that's generally the only thing that goes on. People also love talking about themselves and all interrupt each other to talk louder than the next...

Does anyone have the same feeling?

Yet you are trying to make small talk in this thread. Are you saying that in your 7000 posts nothing in it is "small"

Yup i do, i have gone out plenty and still do but i still much prefer chillin on my pc playing games, surfing porn sites, watching movies and so on. I do seriously enjoy watching sport with my buddies though.

There is nothing wrong with it, i get bored very fast and listening to people chat all night is not my idea of fun to be honest so i just get flat out wasted, make a fool of myself and yea :D.

I'm not making small talk in this thread. If I was I would be reciting some amazing and funny thing that happened to me and my friends last night etc etc.

I think on something like a forum it is far easier just to skip the small talk.

So you had sex last night!

Now you feeling the after effects!

Hey pookster, I know a good therapist in Kloof been seeing her for the last year about the same issues, it does become a problem sometimes and you need to try and resolve it before you get to old. It's not that you need to start the small talk and everything but you need to learn to deal with people, I always thought I would be able to live life like that but then it started effecting my marriage and my wife didn't understand me. Got some books for you to read not to try and change you but it will start effecting your social life.

I am the same. People generally irritate me, prefer being alone or with my wife. I hate the small talk jibber jabber. Who would have thought I actually deal with people for a living.

Ok depends on your personality, everyone is different , so if u like chilling by yourself then thats fine , but the important thing is you need to know how to socialise with people as well because you have to ( work ,etc)

When you playing around with music / playing an instrument , time flys ...

Pooky,

I think you and I face the same problem. We are inable to engage in small talk with strangers at parties etc.

I prefer my own company as well. Even when I'm at our local bar.

yes i agree with you Pooky. i prefer to stay home i would guess its because i do not drink or smoke so never really went out socialising.

I once saw a cartoon (King Tut I think).
Frame one: Man looks up to God and says, 'Stop the world I want to get off!'

Frame two: Huge finger comes out of the heavens and stops the world (like a finger on a record)

Frame three: Man flying through space with 1000's of people all around him looking confused, "Dammit, they all came with me!'

People.

I still have trouble enjoying the company of loud, arrogant people who do things because everyone else does it and who don't think because nobody else does it. Basically, most people.

But there are some folks out there who are so interesting and can make such intelligent and philosophical conversation, that they make dealing with the rest of herd more than worth it.

Not all people are like that. I consider smalltalk to be a load of BS, people talk but they say nothing. Occassionally you do meet interesting people. I personally just ignore the loud mouths as they annoy me.
