Pepkor quietly shuts down Everyshop

They were bad... Like really bad. Everytime I tried to checkout with an item that seemed like a good deal, it was always unavailable for delivery to my location. I'm very much situated in a main center of CPT.

What online shop lists items that are only available in certain regions without actually mentioning this?

It's not like these were large items. They were all smaller items like RAM sticks, Bluetooth Speakers or Anti-Virus Software.

Prominent ??? Really ? I know MYBB journalists are intellectually challenged, but this is a new low of the low

Price disruption, and/or international variety at a reasonable price.

The problem is in the supply chain, in which value is eroded. Price reduction cannot be induced at will. Major shifts in the tiers are needed. The world climate is not helping any of us; it is advantageous for some, but not for the majority. Retail is faced with all of these forces, but they shouldn't gouge their customers. Not all stock on shelves (or in inventory) is owned; some is managed through distribution or consignment.

For pricing to become reasonable, the world needs to become sensible. Silicon is currently doing a hard pivot toward enterprise business, leaving the consumer business in the dust. Shift like this is never good for consumers to own goods.

Depending on the context, Everyshop could be considered prominent. They were one of the few major retailers in the e-commerce space. For better distribution of the market share, it was very important to have. Unfortunately, they didn't succeed. It does seem that they aren't ready for relinquishing the brand. The executives might think it still has value, or they may not want to shut it down completely for balance reasons.

Every time I checked their prices for things they were considerably more than everyone else.

Was more like NotAnyShop.

I would venture it's significantly cheaper to run an online shop like Takealot versus a bunch of brick and mortar shops. Yet none of those savings are passed on.

It was so prominent I had never even heard of it before reading this article. They must have a real ace team working in their marketing and SEO divisions.
