Remember, the spec is for 100m lengths. Not that it'll stop working at 101m but it's very possible that you'll see performance degradation. Might be worth going fiber?

Performance loss over 25m with cat6

At that distance, I presume this is a pretty permanent installation? If so why fiddle with cat 5e? Just install cat 6 cable for future-proofing. Or go with the previous post and use fibre

Yes I was going to say cat6 but was reading a bit and some were saying cat5e is sufficient.
Because it is permanent as you presumed, I'd go fibre now that it is mentioned/recommended.
Question is , because about 50m will be running on my roof, do you get UV protected?
Need advice on where to buy the best.

50m on a roof. Go fibre unless you want to replace equipment every few weeks after storms.
You can speak with Scoop or Uniterm, they sell pre spliced Single Mode fibre. Fibre will be more expensive, but granted you want to run over a roof you are better off getting UV protected Fibre.

Shielded cat5e should still be fine for that.
I'd personally still go the fiber route if I could as you don't want a super thick cable coming down the wall (if you're not chasing it, and if you're chasing it, you don't really want to pull cables down a second time).
Fibre is suppose to be in conduit. Its very fragile. Even if one does network cable it needs to be in conduit. The sun has a funny way of roasting a cable.

Does fibre not get interference from heavy lightning ?
Nope, its a piece of glass in plastic sleeves. There is no way lightning will want to even get close to it. Worst case if it does hit something directly it will not be able to get past the SFP modules. I had a fibre link between two routers earlier this year. Lightning struck the ADSL line, took out the ADSL modem and one router, the second router was still good to go. Just a dead SFP module and router on one side of the link. Replacing the SFP modules and dead router got me up and running again
