It seems that PLANS to improve the situation in SA telecoms almost never bear fruit and when they do it's almost always a few years too late. With LLU being announced I think this is the one thing we should really band together for and for it to be completed on time (or better yet a year earlier in time for 2010 at least).

All the stories I've read on LLU in other countries have led to a significant increase in competing providers and hefty price drops and THAT is what we need desperately here.

So my appeal is to rpm or anyone else in the industry that has constant contact with Telkom, ICASA and the DoC to setup maybe monthly meetings with them where they give a status or progress report on how LLU is going. I don't know if the LLU process has already got underway but even if it hasn't yet, it'd be a good time to start talking to the guys involved in making it happen and not letting it slip past us.

We've had more than our fair share of companies lying to us and breaking deadlines and charging insane prices for broadband and it's gotta stop with LLU so, rpm, please try to make this happen because in my opinion LLU has got to be the priority for the next few years.

erm. well actually we were counting on you to do it. cause it's long and full of jargon :D plus we know you will do it anyway :D oh and give us the simple version please :)

Yeah, in point form, and no longer than a page. Oh, and try and throw in a few smiley faces, they always cheer me up

The LLU Report has been removed as requested by the LLU Committee. A revised report will be made available shortly

...now there have been mutterings which have reached my ears that the report is, how shall we say, derivative in nature (i have heard this now from 3 credible sources)...wonder if this has anything to do with it being pulled...

but i do have a copy of the old one - will provide

@ eremos - completely other different thing altogether :)
