Hi

I get an error 720 with my E220 Huawei modem but not always.

I have three machines.

Machine 1: modem ran fine until Monday, then the error 720 started.

Machine 2: modem has never worked - 720 has always been the problem.

Machine 3: modem worked (and still works) with no problems at all.

Vodacom's help centre advised me to update the firmware, which I did: its now VMCLite 3.2.1.156.

When I did this, the 720 error vanished on Machine 1.

However, the problem persists on Machine 2.

-All 3 systems run XP Pro.
-The modem itself obviously works.
-The aco**** obviously has no problem.
-Machine 2 is a laptop: is this relevant?

Any ideas?

Check out this link.

I think your TCP/IP Configuration file is buggered. I've seen this a few times with some of my customers.

With my one customer, running Start->Run-> cmd)
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
fixed the problem, but as soon as we restarted the problem came back again.

Your best bet would be to completely reload Windows on all the machines.
