the motion on the hisense tv, has anyone experienced like when watching soccer on the dstv app the ball movement ends up blurry and with a trail especially when the ball is kicked in the air

I just had an interesting experience with the Hisense call centre. I couldn't find information about whether the U8G and U6G TVs use VA or IPS panels on their SA website. The site lists contrast ratios, which can usually tell you the panel type, but published figures can't always be trusted. Online reviews and info sites for these TVs didn't help, as the U8G models differ between the USA, Europe and Australia. After playing switchboard pinball for a while I was told (get this) that they "Could not disclose that information".

WTF?! Panel type is a common deciding factor for many people. VA has better contrast but lousy viewing angles, IPS has better viewing angles but blacks look grey in a dark room.

Can anyone here who owns a 65U8G or 65U6G tell me what panel they have?

oh btw the guys at tafelberg furnitures (bellville branch in CPT) are very knowledgeable when it comes to tvs

so maybe give them a call as well

Have you tried something not being the DSTV App? As the DSTV app is notoriously bad.

VA panel. Whenever you are not sure just go instore and do the finger flick test.

Unfortunately, I do not remember the model of tv I bought. This is more of a generic issue I have with Hisense. Every Hisense product I have bought (TVs, freezer, fridge) all failed shortly after getting out of the warranty period. Planned obsolescence or coincidence? In future I will give their products a miss, thanks.

Was a good run for something bought on sale.

Yes, flick an ips panel and the wont be any reaction from the screen, flick a VA one and it will react/effect.

Yeah, no. 58" wont fit in the space in fact 55 is even too big.

Not a bad TV, not on the part of the Hisenses, but I've bought 2 in the last year and everyone who has them is happy with them.
