Even if you aren't happy with it after unboxing... Though I would never take advantage of Takealot's policy. Will unbox carefully in case I need to put everything back just like it was.Doing the same, can always return it if you guys find a issue before I open it

Currently my only two concerns are nits and TV menu/settings abilities.
Vidaa and remote quality aren’t a problem as I’ll use an Apple TV & remote to control everything.
The 135 cd/m2 brightness is difficult to interpret. I’m hoping that’s at peak/sustained 100% window, because then it would be on par with the LG C1.
The 800 cd/m2 peak brightness is equally difficult to interpret. At 2 - 10% peak/sustained window, it would be 50 cd/m2 higher than the C1…

It's hooked up to my sound bar so no idea on sound.
Nits mine.
Hirschs has the 65U8H for the same price and as far as I understand it lights up a room like nothing else. Micro LED also so you might want to look into that model.
That is my backup incase Lupus finds a issue with the A8H before mine arrives on Friday.

At that price I would probably go with the LG QNED for less... Just does not seem like good value compared to OLED. Mini LED is great (I think of new gen MacBooks) but at the end of the day, self-illuminating pixels beat LCD matrixes for me. But yes, not the best for bright rooms if most viewing is done in the day and curtains aren’t an option.

Mini LEDs are better for brighter rooms, as they can get brighter and they would do HDR better. But they'll still suffer from possible black crushing.At that price I would probably go with the LG QNED for less... Just does not seem like good value compared to OLED. The QNED806 is an Edge lit TV. For that price its not got value for moneyAt that price I would probably go with the LG QNED for less... Just does not seem like good value compared to OLED. True, though strangely enough we actually watch more TV on my old U7QF as it's in the main lounge, where as the A8H is in the entertainment room and generally it's only me and a buddy, sometimes my dad who utilise it. As when my son had a birthday party last year and they all watched movies in there, they damaged my recliner :-(

Eh we moved it into the main lounge, took the better one out there and put it in there, the main lounge has dogs jumping all over the place and cats. So you know what I'd rather just let that get further damaged then the more expensive one
it was a cheapy for like R6k in 2018,I looked at the QNED806 in Makro, it was the worse than the hisense u7h...This might be better for gaming but it was not impressive, the upscaling (of a 720p video) was off, the movement by default was not great and it felt like I was seeing artifacting, it just looked off. Could have just been the floor model that has issues but yeah I don't think this is an amazing choice. So I'm not sure I'd really say it's a better choice than the U8H which does seem to be a great TV even if our market variant is slightly different...If I had the cash I'd have probably gone U8H.

Will have to wait and see as there isnt much owner information out on the net on this TV or long term reviews. Each manufacturer has its own way to mitigate burn in based on the software they implement and I havent come across anything on Hisnese OLED's, more specifically the A8H so far.
