[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Seems like every TV under 15k is bad... :cautious:

At least according to the internet
You'll never be satisfied listening to some folks around here. It's all about personal experience, it looks good, it IS good.

Cool, I love Sony. My 12 year full hd led has never given me any issues. It’s on daily for 6 hrs +
I need to see the pic quality of the LG C1 side by side with the Sony X900.
OLED vs LCD. No comparison, The LG will have better pic quality without even trying.

But i suppose it depends on what you require from a tv.

True, I’m leaning towards the LG anyway, blows the Sony away in all departments.

Hi all, I have the 55U8G paired with my 2019 Shield TV Pro and I cant seem to figure out why I have constant screen tearing/stuttering during fast motions whilst watching series. Also the unnatural fast motion is annoying and seems still on even though I turned it off in the menu?

Any assistance or ideas will be appreciated as my 55Q8600 also paired with the 2019 Shield TV Pro has no issues and is just perfect.

Thanks in advance.

Best bet would be to PM @Hisense , but sadly the rep has been AWOL since March. Or contact support via their website. They should give you an indication if they have updated firmwares or not :)
I noticed the rep being awol. I did contact the HiSense support team, they were able to supply FW for the 55K3300UW and here was the response around the 55K390PAD TV:

No Firmware for model, 55K390PAD

Strange that no FW is available for a 2014 unit. The interface is extremely slow and playing local or streaming videos get stuck often during play.

Get a cheap media player.

So I am in the market for a new TV. Went out to makro and deciding between the hisense 65U6G and the 65A6G. TV will be used for
Movies and series,no gaming.

Which model should I go for?

Sorry this thread is so long and could find a comparison!

You think it would make a difference by bypassing the OS of the TV? If that still bttles with performance, then the TV is bust?

Yes it would help, it will use the Media players Os instead of the TVs outdated Os. The tv will basically just become a “display”. Maybe borrow a friends to test out first if you have any doubts.

U8G no doubt, it is not even a contest if budget allows Ofcourse. Night and day.

I have a weird colour issue with my 55U7QF when using HDMI. The VIDAA software on the TV is old ... no support for new Plex and no Disney+, so I bought an Android TV box. Everthing looks okay once plugged in (menu etc), but as soon as a video starts to play, skintones gets a noticible pink hue and red becomes *really* saturated ... like bleeding saturation. When I change the colour mode, or even replug the HDMI, it 'resets' to normal colour, until a video plays, then this red tint everywhere.

-snip -
UPDATE: I think I found the probelm, and I'm curious if you guys have also come accross this weird bug:

I currently own two Hisense TV's - a 55" Q8600 and a 55" U7QF. Unfortunately, neither supports Disney+ so I had to buy an external Android TV box. No matter the HDMI source (and I've tried multiple devices), the TV seems to get "stuck" in the BT.2020 color space after viewing HDR content, and then proceeds to apply BT.2020 to everything ... the UI, SDR (BT.709) content, the lot. It doesn't switch between applicable colour spaces at it should.

This causes the whole picture, to get over-saturated in the red channel. This is very noticeable on skin tones and other scenes where BT.709 is expected, but BT.2020 is applied ... and there's no way to actually manually force the HDMI input either way. Changing the output from the Android box doesn't help either, save for using HDR to SDR mode, but that defeats the purpose of having an HDR capable device, and also it makes content look really ugly.

The problem is on the TV's side, and the only way to "reset" the picture back to BT.709, is to either pull the HDMI cable out and replug it, or to go into the Hisense menu and change the picture profile to something else, and then change it back again ... that seems to trigger a BT.2020 to BT.709 switch-over, but it's quite cumbersome to have to do this every time.

I already flashed the TV firmware with the latest M0222 build, but that didn't solve the problem. I've written to Hisense support, so hopefully they'll come back to me, or the @Hisense rep here, if still active.

Yeah I ended up going way over budget and bought the C1 lol

Rather nice but wow TVs are overpriced IMO
Great choice, Now your next TV needs to be a QD-OLED. LCDs are so 10 years ago.

Lol TV prices are insane. Sometimes i wish i didnt care about HDR so i could just buy myself something massive but cheap.
