The 250 nits quoted is typical brightness. They haven't quoted peak brightness.

It could be a VA panel as they indicated typical contrast which to me is the native contrast of the panel. There are lots of tvs with VA panels that have around the same native contrast. Also, IPS panels have a better response time and colour accuracy and colour reproduction than VA.

The PCI rating of this tv is 2000 which is quite good for the price.

OLED is great but because of the current prices it can be overkill and not in everyone's reach or use case. R20k vs R8.5k is a massive gap. Hisense just needs to sort out its sub par upscaling and get Disney+ in SA like it's competitors. Otherwise their 7 and 8 series ULED/QLED tvs are great value for money

Yes I got one last week! Hirsch had a good special on the 65 inch u7g. I think I paid 14k for it.

So far my experience has been excellent. I don't even mind the vidaa os,it's really snappy and have not been using my mi box with the new TV thus far.

Picture quantity is great and no regrets on this buy

With the old CRT screens eye strain was a factor but with modern screens it’s less so. Consider how close you sit to a laptop screen for 8 hours a day? Not saying there’s no eye strain, and I guess it will depend on how long you watch without a break, but if you read up on recommended distances to TVs you’ll be surprised how close you should be sitting to get the full experience. Not sure if any eye doctors have approved the below but see link from rtings on distance to tv:

Looks like Hisense's Upper-mid and High end line up have 120hz panels! Good chance that they will have full HDMI 2.1 support from this year :)

They’ve been known to pull the wool with specs for non US models like this before. Also “ultra motion” sounds very suspicious. Could be fancy talk for 60hz panels.
