[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

Watching the "Free" sport weekend on the U7H. Sport does look glorious (but won't upgrade to R1000 pm plan).¡

Also got Amazon Prime via Vodacom last night (R79pm for 4K not bad. Lord of the Rings looks amazing in UHD).

Yes the "black bars" are grey and some cut scenes at the beginning are grey.. But once you get "into" the movie who cares.

Also for TV speakers they are really very good! Lots of bass and very enjoyable. Put volume on 20 and almost jumped on some scary scenes..

Yes OLED would have been better, but this is really not bad. Most series are "full screen" anyways.. Just the movies aspect ratio is cropped.

Oh yes. Running ONLY the TV at 88W with Bluetti EB3A 600W / 268Wh on 1080p and 124W in 4K (at least it easily lasts 2 hour loadshedding)
Can fiddle to get that black less grey

Bought a U7H 65 inch over the weekend. Very happy with the purchase. First TV upgrade in over 12 years so you can imagine the difference lol. Has everything needed for the PS5. Need to see how to go about calibration or what works best etc but so far just super happy with the TV.

Does anyone else have an issue with the awful audio from Netflix and picture quality? Voice is soft, I have to crank up the volume and then the sound effects, background music is so loud. This happens mostly with HDR content, HD is not much better. Prime video and YouTube have spectacular sound and picture quality.

Nope sorry, though I did have issues with some movies on my old U7 back in the day, but it was the movie as watching it on my tablet was just as awful.

Same issue with Netflix, using Apple TV.. sound is send as pcm… its probably Netflix compression…

Hi guys,

I know this is an old TV but does anyone have the latest firmware for the 43b7100uw. Weirdly enough the system says the version is 43a6100aex.Current firmware version is V000. 01.00a.L1001.Beloe it it says Extended version: L102. Region South Africa.

Do I need to change regions to find Ota updates?

Can I use same model but different screen size if I do find an update?

Appreciate any advice

This thread has been super helpful.

Quick question, 65 inch Hisense A8H or Samsung QN90A? Samsung is about R4500 more for the same size.

Thank you. I know you mentioned something about motion issues and picture quality at 120hz. Has this been resolved?
It seemed to only be the PS5 and I've not had issues on my series X after making some changes.
But it is an oled so yes Dark viewing area is a must

Okay honestly. I appreciate good motion over most stuff. I just love the detail of 120fps. My lounge is very adjustable so making it low lighting is very doable. My first choice would have been the LG CS6LA but the 65" is really expensive. I wouid love to get an OLED but I would sacrifice inky blacks if it meant me avoiding frame issues. I have a ps5 as well. So my options are now LG CS6LA 55", Hisense A8H 65" and Samsung QN90A 65". Help! :( Lol.

LG hands down. It is worth the extra $$$$

Is it? I mean you don't actually own one, reviews do also mention it having motion issues, crushed blacks and other oled issues. Is paying 55% more for maybe 5% better picture worth it?
For the price of the A8H it's 95% there to the LG but at half the price, maybe one day when you do have the mythical LG you can comment.

For the most part yes. Only a fraction of content has motion issues. Can’t remember too well and don’t use the TV much in all honesty. Suggest you continue reading the thread as we did all provide solutions.

It's disturbing how much I've read in this thread and still can't decide lol. Paying this much for a TV really gives you a headache. On paper the A8H really looks good. Just concerned about the fact that Hisense usually doesn't specialise in OLEDs. I mean it's comforting to know that they buy their panels from LG. Is there any clear issues with this TV? Excluding an occasional once every 6 months issue
