How's it so far? the black and color levels, dimming and such?

The 65U8H was my first choice, but went A8H instead for OLED.

It's still in the box as am deciding if I should keep it. I looked at the A8H but is a fair bit more in price.

I'm coming from a entry level 2017 LG UHD 50inch so either way this would be a massive step up.

How much time do you spend watching TV? Does it allow you to save on entertainment costs?

I watch TV every evening and on weekends, we don't go out too much so do save on entertainment. That is why spent a bit more and went with this one, was initially looking at the U6H for 10k so this was stretching my budget a bit. Want to make sure it is a solid choice. I know OLED's are better etc etc but also again more pricey

So worth it though. You’d have scratched the itch for at least a decade to come. Whereas with LED, sooner or later you’ll be left wanting.

Thanks for this, did come across that one, was pretty much the only one I could find
 
I have a 2022 U7H with VIDAA 6 and from yesterday it seems DSTV now does not work anymore? Can anyone else confirm if their DSTV app is still working? Did try Mobile Networks (Vodacom Hotspot) and Rain.. Still not working.
 
Strangely it does work via the Browser app... Wonder who changed something now.. How do I check / update the DSTV app version?

Update on this.

Takealot cancelled the order and refunded :-(

Now the TV is R10k more; Will be waiting until it drops again.

its easy to sort that out considering that the Hisense range of TVs are a bit cheaper than other mainstream brands - you can use some of the money you saved and buy a GoogleTV or Android TV set top box .... for example the new Mi Box Gen2 (has all the features i would like to have in a set top box and for now hardware specs better than everything besides the Nvidia Shield)
smart TVs have pretty weak CPU's and GPU's and also very little ram so the boxes in tandem with any HDMI enabled TV work out better anyway and is probably going to give you far more utility than just a smart TV .... and with any smart TV it is going to land up obsolete pretty soon and with only a smart TV you would be replacing your TV very frequently BUT if you have a set top box - you can keep the TV as long as it is working and just replace those set top boxes as technology and operating systems improve (at an average of R1k to R1,5k for the TV boxes that is a no brainer ie replace the cheap thing a couple of times instead of the R20k TV)

Ya makes sense and have thought of that, will go that route when needed
 
So is everyone in agreement that the best 65 inch TV in SA for +-R20k is the Hisense A8h?

Even with inferior hardware to the US counterpart?
