[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

So... Not able to get Apple Airplay and Homekit installed. It is on the App Store (Vidaa 6) but tells me - not Internet / Reconnect

It defenitly is not my Internet (did try 3 other connections - Wifi and LAN).

Anyone seen this, been able to get Airplay working?

I also see @Hisense has not been active on these forums for a year :/
 
Kakste televisions ever. Or must I rather say DSTV Now, the app, is kak.

Hisense 55" U6G bought in January 2022.

Everything worked, but for the last few months DSTV Now is ****@d. Everything will play for a few seconds, and then it freezes. Have to press back on the remote and select the channel again. Plays for a few seconds or minutes and then freezes again. Rinse and repeat.

Clear the cache and all that ****. Did reset etc. Still the same. Cant uninstall the app, no app store. No updates available.

Everything else works (Netflix, Youtube etc.) without a hiccup.

So yeah, it is probably DSTV Now's fault with their shitty app, and not Hisense (although VIDAA) also k@k.

DSTV app on my Samsung is the most useless POS app ever... On my smaller Hisense TV it works perfectly. I think it must be DSTV itself or certain TV models it has some issues with

US doesn't have a A8H counterpart, U8H yes but not A8H
 
Asking for a friend - R10k budget, basically just wants to watch Netflix, what would you recommend. He thinks his budget will only get him a 55"; thoughts?

Toshiba? I remember reading some stuff saying it was rebranded junk - or am I imagining things?

My viewing area barely has the curtains open, but to be fair I actually don't use that TV as much, I tend to use the older ULED hisense in the main lounge more, as that's where the fireplace is and the family.
