[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

So my 4 year old UHD TV decided to suddenly switch off and doesn't want to come on again. I've unplugged all HDMIs and just have the power cable in.

The red light flashes for a bit, then rapidly and then goes solid red again.

I've tried power cycling etc. Anyone have any other ideas on what could have happened? It was working perfectly a short while ago.

My Hisense did similar and was told the PSU popped.
Either claim from insurance for power surge caused issue or pony up on Black Friday.

You’ll need a TV Repair company to send your insurance a letter confirming the PSU popped. Insurance will lead you on the process since some have repair centres they prefer to use

Getting My first family TV in Like 20 Years. Going A8H. Any tips for first setup I can use. Getting a Mi box as well as I heard no TV is "Smart" better off with a external Box, is that true ?

Depends what you want to do on the TV, if just the main streaming services, test it out before buying an external media box. VIDAA isn't the best but works fine for the main streaming

Is there stock? First thing is change Dolby vision from iq to custom, fiddle with the motion settings. Where possible put it into filmmaker mode

From what I can see yes. Hopefully it last till tonight XD. Thanks man Will do so. I am super excited so Hopefully I do not get burned with that out of stock sticker. Any other tips?

Good Point. I looking at playing some HEVC content but yes mostly streaming sites. Like Your usual. I think I will give it a try as I see the Mi box went up R200 overnight.... Eish Also TV got HEVC decoding so thats perfect. Thanks guys

The built in smart features are fine for my usage, so see if it works for you before buying another box and spending more money. And yes it plays HEVC content perfectly, even managed to play a fully uncompressed 4k movie from my hard drive with no issues

Some TV buying advice please

Hisense 55U7H for R7 999
Hisense 55U6K for R8 999
Hisense 55U8H for R9 999
Hisense 65U6K for R11 999

Other options are the Skyworth 9350 and 9500 models in 55" and 65" that are a bit cheaper than Hisense

Any opinions would be appreciated

Leaning towards the 55U8H that is Mini-LED vs the U7H that is ULED

To provide an update to others, insurance sent someone to collect the TV. They confirmed the motherboard is finished and the TV needs to be replaced. Caused by a power surge etc

Received my u7h 65 inches still have color banding as my 55 inch that I returned on Wednesday…apart from that picture looks great when watching dolby vision there’s no color banding there only on SDR content

From what I can see, it seems turn off dimming to check if that fixes the issue.

All depends on viewing distance and whether you prefer quality or quantity.

Even though I have a viewing distance for 65 I went for quality of oled 55 over the quantity of 65 led

Oh also check if you're running on Dolby Vision IQ or Dolby Vision custom/high what ever.
