Personal / physical no-no's

Hugs. I don't hug. Unless we're dating, don't hug me. I can never get it right. It's just awkward.
:(oh noes! I love hugs, especially when you can tell how much the person has missed you by how tight they squeeze you :)

You i'd hug. But only so that I can shove my face into your lovely soft curls.

People who chew gum. If you're not sitting down and eating a meal, you should not be chewing anything.
People who do anything too close to me. I need space. Lots of it.
People (especially obese people) who breathe through their noses too loudly. This is usually exacerbated by eating.
I don't like idle chit-chat. I'm not interested in the colour of your kid's snot.
I'm incredibly sensitive to smells. If there's any kind of funky smell around someone (bo, breath, etc.), I get grossed out and leave at the first available opportunity.

Don't like when people kiss me that I see possibly once in 5 years (extended family etc).

Na...if I know you intimately...you can touch me anywhere really. Dont have issues with my feet. What I do have issue with is if people stand behind my chair. Also...my personal space...I HATE IT when people get close....specially strangers. I often tell people to back the fck up when waiting in the qeues. Seriously...climbing on my back aint gonna get you to the till any quicker ffs!!!

Do you get them off?

Strangers and people who I don't know, entering my personal space; that extends to touching of course - if you're not in my personal space, you can't touch me.

I'm usually the one to make the first move where physical contact is concerned, and only when I'm comfortable with the person.

Must be kinda restricting on your close friends and family life?

You joke but yes :/ I once got into a riproaring argument with my SO at about 2am because he was breathing in my ear and I was just lying there seething. Eventually I couldn't take it anymore. You can imagine his surprise when he was woken up by a screaming banshee giving him hell for ... well ... breathing :(

Is this for randoms, SO or both?

It's fun for everyone!

You're such a people person.

 I actually really am, I just feel like I suffer from sensory overload really quickly. I have a particularly strong sense of my personal space 'bubble'. If sound or touch breaks through that when I'm not inviting it or expecting it, I get angry/frustrated/snappy.

:wtf:
Why....?
And why would I want to....?

Well, my daughter has learnt that you dont tickle feet (not 'the hard way', before anybody calls social services) and I always sleep with socks on so that my feet dont brush against something (cat, SO, child crawling into bed) while I'm sleeping. Essentially, if it did happen, the UIO would get kicked out of reflex. If I'm expecting it and its a 'hard' touch then I can accept it (but not welcome it). Soft feathery fingers or unexpected contact and it's like my leg has a life of its own :( You'd be surprised how often your feet come into contact with people/pets without you realising it.

I once had a bag of particularly smelly cheese that I was taking home. Standing on the northern line tube in London at rush hour would usually have been hell, but thanks to my smelly cheese, no one stood near me. I considered making it a standard addition to my handbag :D

Ja - that's the one. Unless I am in a relationship (or trying to be). And extended family are the worst at this. I feel your pain. I wish I could grow a wart or mole around the edges of my mouth for this one...

As a standard, the dutch kiss 3 times as greeting. You'd love it here! And they are sticklers for social rituals so if you fended one off, they would likely get a bit miffed.

You sound very familiar ;)

Jokes aside - I don't like anyone that I'm not intimate with hugging, touching or getting near me - at all

It's your selective editing. That could be anybody.... :p

I don't like people getting into my personal space, generally, although it obviously depends on the person.

Hugs... make me awkward, but I'm working at getting used to it. :D

Other than that, I'm pretty easy going.

What are your weird physical 'oh hell no's ? Things that instantly irritate you or make you fly into karate pose?

For me:
DONT touch my feet, you will lose your teeth
DONT make loud noises too close to me (especially if I'm not expecting it)
If I'm sick or injured DONT touch me. I will make you sick or injured too.

Also, I am hypersensitive to the sounds of breathing, chewing and swallowing. It immediately irritates me and I get all edgy. Apparently it's a thing though (in varying degrees for varying people) so I'm not too stressed about that : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Misophonia

Aside from these quirks, I'm usually quite accommodating otherwise :)

Anybody else have anything similar?

Are you a cat?
