Hi Men/Guys/Fellow Males :p

I was born with one testicle. It hasn't influenced my sexual life, but it was quite a psychological barrier when growing up and when I was 19 or 20 I finally asked my mother and she confessed that I was born with only one.

I have researched online and I see it won't influence my "fatherhood" capabilities, but I was wondering how many others have been born as I am?

No need to be shy. Please let me know.

Thanks,
tera

Yup happened to me but they found it and put it back in place. It was rather odd discovering it when i was 9 years old. I kept asking how many balls my friends had :D. Not really sure why my parents never told me.

Real story got the scare to prove it :D. No pooky there will be no pics.

You should go tested because you will never know unless you get tested, many men with two cannot have kids. The only way to know for sure is the test :D.

What do you mean they found it and put it back in place?

Not entirely sure where they found it, i have a scar about 7cm long just above the base upwards, so from the base of my mighty man slightly right and 7-8cm up. They found it there, pulled it down and put it in place. I have a scar around my second testicle as well. Bizarre i know haha. My problem was not development of said ball but where it ended up. So i have two but i suspect the second one has not really progressed like the normal one, nor does it roam freely.

Ok, that's a condition where it hasn't descended properly. As far as I know they tested me as well when I was a child and I only have one, I'll have to chat with my mom to verify though.

They start higher up but then move downwards to the normal position as the fetus develops - sometimes this process doesn't complete before the baby is born. I believe that it is fairly common.

It would be a good idea to check because you may have a ball floating around your area :D. I read i have increased risk of cancer and my hormones might be screwed, i actually think they should have just removed it because the operation should have happened after 3-6 months not 10 years. Now i have a 10 year old ball stitched to my sack . This can cause serious problems down the line i have read. There is a difference between a ball that has not dropped and being born without one in terms of cancer and a few other nasties. You should check if they looked for it.

Thanks killa, I'll ask if I was checked.

Is it possible to have 3? I seem to remember having 3? But I think it's a story I fabricated and I know think it's fact...

Yup, i cannot remember the exact details to be honest but i know i only had the op around the age of 9 or 10. I think that is reason they stitched it back, i think if you go for the op when you are 3-6 months they do it without stitching it to the sack.

What to do if you have only one testicle. If you are a teenager or an adult with an undescended testicle you should definitely see your doctor. Your doctor should refer you to a hospital specialist (urologist). There is no need to feel at all embarrassed, because all doctors know this is a problem that needs attention. There are at least several issues that you will need to discuss with the urologist.

Firstly, an undescended testicle is slightly more likely to develop cancer than a normal testicle. The risk is roughly 1 in 2,000. (The risk of testicular cancer in all men is about 1 in 100,000.) In fact, cancer of the testicle is almost always curable, partly because men easily notice a lump on their testicle and therefore it is caught at an early stage. But if the cancer develops in a testicle that is hidden up in the abdomen, it will be difficult to detect. A testicle that has become stuck in the abdomen is unlikely to be producing sperm, so the urologist may suggest that you have an operation to remove it, to prevent it becoming cancerous in the future. This is a complicated decision, which you will have to discuss in detail with the urologist. It may depend partly on your age; cancer of the testicle is most common in young men, so after the age of about 32 years the risk of the operation may outweigh the likelihood of getting cancer and it might be better to do nothing, but your urologist will advise you.

My biggest worry is why they never removed it if it can become cancerous, so now i sit with a ball that could become cancerous. I actually need to go see a specialist about this in all honesty. I am not sure if they knew 20 years ago that it could become cancerous and that is why they opted to stitch it to my sack instead of removing it. It is very possible if they never detected it, the testi may still be roaming around :D
