Petition for LAN is SC2

You do know this petition is absolutely useless. Blizzard doesn't care about any petition. Only way they will care is if you can get enough wow players to cancel their subscription till lan is back for sc 2 and diablo 3.

Not happening. Just accept the fact that we are screwed with our bandwith situation.:(

Yeah I know they will not include it, so anybody want to bet on how long till the lan crack will be released?

And that's why Blizzard sux and Valve rox. Valve have already stated they are going to look into ways for L4D1 players to play with L4D2 players after the massive outcry online.

Screw Blizzard.

The point is, they'll change - they will have too, fan bois are going crazy all over the world, just go look at the official forums.

You know what I think is happening, Blizzard did this to push SC2 - get people involved and screaming SC2! SC2! and thus advertising the bloody game.

Of course we don't know what "special" features battle.net 2.0 will include. Still I doubt it'll be any substitute for LAN.

At first I was quite ticked off about the announcement (because I enjoy the occassional LAN session still and often at places that don't have an internet connection). My stance at the time they announced it was "I'm not buying it!".

However thankfully to some very clever people out there I will buy it once a patch/crack for LAN play comes out (because it is Starcraft). It's sad that we'll have to resort to these unofficial methods to play a game we really enjoy when we're not around an internet connection but I think the worst part is that we'll have to wait a while before we get access to the Zerg campaign.

!!! The term "a while" in Blizzard years is probably around 3 to 5 years.

Signed the petition and emailed blizzard about it. Just politely told them that I have paid good money for every blizzard game released since Diablo 1 and am very sad to say that I now have no reason to get SC2 as I do not have internet access at home due the SA situation. I got quick response thanking me for the feedback and saying it had been read.

The fallout from this is bigger than people think. Most SC/BW tournaments are done over LAN these days as even with the best internet connection there can be Lag. From what I understand they suspect that blizzard saying you will play over battlenet merely means you will register on battlenet and pass some form of security check there before playing your game over the fastest available connection, be that LAN or internet. So there may kinda be LAN but you will need to start the game via battlenet. Still irritating and still blocking me off from the game but we will see.

I feel blizzard is really stuffed up with this announcement though. Its like saying we are going to use a WMD on the pirates among all you legit gamers just cause we can so sayonara suckers. They are hurting their paying fanbase more than the pirates as the pirates will have the LAN crack up soon anyways.

+1

and it will not be called a crack, but a "Fix";)
