In lieu of CSA nightmare capitulation to the BCCI, and the cancelled return tour of Pakistan, please put your name to this petition :

"Um no" ?

Why not? You'd rather have a dull December / January?

All the bigger nations are tied up for December / January. Zim, Bangla & Ireland are all qualifiers for the 2015 Cricket World Cup, and they are available during that period. Playing them will give the Proteas a chance to give exposure to some in-form players from our Momentum Cup, allowing us to have a bigger pool to select players from for next year and the World Cup in 2015.

You're right.

Its not like the Proteas, who were destroyed 4-1 in their previous ODI series (against Sri Lanka) and who is currently struggling against Pakistan, needs as many ODI matches as possible. I mean, after the 2 ODI's against India in December, they don't have a single ODI scheduled/confirmed for 2014. The Australian incoming tour will consist of only 3 tests and 3 T20's, after which the Proteas will compete in the ICC World Twenty20 in March. After that of course will be the 'compulsory' 6 month break, to allow them to recover from 'all the cricket the play'.

We will be a force to be reckoned with, come the 2015 World Cup. Especially with how the current squad is performing.

We are, I agree. In Tests we seem okay, but our One Day game needs work. A lot of work. We can't take the current team to the 2015 World Cup.

And until I looked at our upcoming ODI fixtures, I didn't know how little of them we'll be playing. I'm sure some tours will still be booked for 2014, but I don't see any ODI's being played before the World Twenty20. Then its IPL. So ja, not a lot of time left to give some new players a chance to proof their mettle. And I must admit, looking at our Momentum series, there's a couple of players I'd love to see in the national side.
