Sci-fi doesn't exist anymore, it's now Sy-fy and DSTV won't unfortunately bring it back due to there not being a market for it :-( they also don't listen to petitions by the looks of it.

There have been numerous petitions to bring back sy fi. The answer from DSTV was that here is not a market for it and that it is an expensive channel to maintain. ie it costs more to produce sci fi than it does to create a soapie. I costs even less to shoot soccer and show that.

Bear in mind that even if we do get SyFy it will be a watered down version for a few years, because MNET Action has rights to most of the better shows on SyFy right now, so the channel couldn't broadcast the newest episodes of Caprica or Stargate for example.
