A small group of students, bent on destruction and violence are determined to keep our campuses shut at all costs. Their threats and intimidation have forced management to keep universities closed this week.
These criminals do not speak for the overwhelming majority of students who want to learn.
We cannot allow this to continue any longer. Sign this petition to join our call to re-open our campuses.
University Management, the Department of Higher Education, and the SAPS must work together to ensure that our campuses are safe and that those who want to learn will not be interrupted.
Violence and intimidation is never the answer and only undermines the rights of the very students who need assistance. Those who persist with the destruction of our campuses must be arrested and face prosecution.
It is time for those who have been silenced to speak out against the criminal capture of what is an important and legitimate cause, the pursuit of free education for the poor and increased support for the “missing middle”.
