Watched the first few moments and got the gist of it. What an ass. Guy is simply too unreasonable to function in modern society. He loses his composure over such a simple and easily rectifiable mistake too.

I went to the petrol station last month and asked for R100 fuel. the attendant wasn't watching and it went over by R17. I didn't have my bag or purse with me and told him to stop I didn't have anymore money with me so I couldn't pay more than the R100. I gave him the money and dashed off home to get the other R17, went back and gave him the money. I know it was about him not paying attention but that R17 is a lot of money to them they don't earn a lot. people do make mistakes we are all human.

Any attendant who cannot stop the pump properly must be brand new, untrained or he did it to sell more.
Surely you didn't appreciate the inconvenience of having to come back?

Some of the new pumps they can put the amount in and it will pump up to that, but on the others where you have to hold and release, sometimes there are overs. It's a mistake, it happens.
There is no reason for them to "sell more". They don't get a commission so they get absolutely nothing out of it and if they overpump and they can't get it back from the client, they pay.
If the client can't pay and it's big amounts, the garage would pump it out again, but for small amounts the attendant will usually have to pay in.
If you look at it, this idiot probably drives around during the day with workers on the back of the bakkie doing some maintenance type work, and is basically using his "tried and tested" HR skills during his freetime, which are diabolical. If he is reading this, he will find diabolical in the "english" woordeboek
If he works in a corporate environment, or for a large company which has the expected HR - Ethics training and standards, and is recognised by his employers in this Video, then I think it is bye bye time.

Seems to be common to have this happen. How is it that this 'mistake' benefits only the garage owner.
It reminds me of when you say fill it up, and the guy is determined to put so much in, the petrol overflows despite telling him not to. Again, the pump jockey is doing that for whom? I'll bet the owner told him to.
I always tell them to fill to the first click, but it's not the norm so probably once every couple of years a guy will forget and continue and then I just ask him to stop. While you and I might not like to overfill, there is the converse where you have guys that want it filled as much as possible and even get out and bounce or rock their vehicles to make sure all air bubbles are our, etc.
The attendants are trained to fill cars to the brim - of course the company wants to sell as much as possible, but most people are happy with that. If they weren't, then I'm sure they wouldn't do it. There isn't a whole big conspiracy here.
Remember the attendants typically don't care very much for the owner. They are interested in tips so they'll do more for the driver than the owner of the petrol station. Some of the attendants make 50 - 75% of their money in tips.
