I currently have one petrol card that me and my wife have to share.
In terms of admin its a little bit of challange to share the card between the 2 of us.
So i am looking to apply for another petrol card.
Any suggestion on what bank give the best rates ect ect??

Why not save a few bucks and use a debit card linked to your bank account?

yea i suppose i could do that. Never actually thought about it before because not many petrol stations had the option to use debit cards. But i see that is changing now

shell and BP accept debit cards, i always use them...

I have a new Nedbank one linked to my Cheque account. I can only use it if I have money in the account instead of it going from credit with interrest.

Much easier to manage :)

Isn't this "law" going to change soon , allowing you to buy Petrol with a CC ? How is all the FIFA tourists going to buy petrol in their rented cars (without lugging around cash all over)? It's only our silly little country who this absurd petrol-card rule....you can happily tour europe with normal credit cards accepted at all petrol stations ...

A decision to allow motorists to use credit cards when buying petrol has been welcomed but the public will need to give government the nod before it is approved.

The proposal has been published in the Government Gazette for public comment.

“It’s crucial that it comes in just before the 2010 World Cup because with the hundreds of thousands of foreigners, who will have credit cards, they would be caught and we must have a system which is in line with overseas practice,” advised Schuitmaker.

Anyone know what happened to this?

The Department of Minerals and Energy earlier this month published a draft bill with regard to changing the relevant legislation to allow for credit card payments, acknowledging the need for SA fuel payments to be aligned with global custom.

BP – voted SA’s top petroleum brand for the eighth year in a row – plans to extend its debit card payment service currently offered at most of its BP service stations nationally, to include credit and cheque card payments.
