Hi all,

I'm not good at maths so I need to ask you something and someone here with brains must sort it out for me.

My friend drives a Opel Corsa Lite 1300.

To fill his tank costs ±R400 because he has a ±40LT tank.

To drive from Cape Town (Gardens to be exact) to Bergfliet is ± 30km (If anyone knows the exact distance, feel free to speak up)
Petrol costs what now... R8.60± a litre.

How much does it cost to go from A to B and then back to A (60km±).

...I actually had something else in mind here but now I can't remember it...

Basically, I'm trying to explain to someone how much it costs IN REALITY since this other person lives in a dream world ;) bout costs and such.

Maths guru's are welcome to give a wonderful break down of costs! haha. :D

im guessing he gets about 14-16km/litre with that car...maybe 18...so lets stick to 16km/litre....

60km/16km/litres = 3.75 litres @ R8.60 per litre

Thus 3.75 x R8.60 = R32.25

thus 22 work day month = 22 x R32.25 = R709.50 every month to get to work and back.......

Hope thats helpful :D

We don't know that, but here is the info to maybe help find out THAT bit of Info.

When he put R200 in, he got 23.07 litres and his odometer (?!?) said 84677

Next time

When he put R200 in, he got 23.07 litres and his odometer (?!?) said 85001

Distance travelled is 324km's

60 * (324/23.07) *8.67 = R37

Devill was about right.

You also need to take maintenance and wear+tear into account. The other day the power steering on my car died. R11k bill.

odometer is the thing that tells you how far you have driven :)
going for beer will be back soon :)

ok so he is getting 14km/litre

thus 60/14km/litre = 4.29 x R8.60 = R36.89 every day for 22 days a month which gives us R811.67

Happy now :p

My car (Corolla 1600) gets more or less 10kms for every litre of fuel

So if I put in 10l, I know it's good enough for 100kms.
