So...has anyone heard anything about the petrol shortage? I'm driving to the Louis Trichardt (Limpopo/Northern Province) today from Roodepoort in my bakkie (Hilux 2700i dbl cab) and it's petrol hungry... I don't wanna get half way and there's no petrol? Or get there and can't come back on Sunday :p

There were tons of cars at all the fueling stations this morning... hopefully its cause fuel is cheaper :)

I filled up (even though I was only 4l short of a full tank) and it took 35mins.. people were panicking, lots and lots of cars.. reminded me of the famous pic of zim with the queues at the filling stations...

From what I understand there isn't a fuel shortage as such. Only a fuel shortage at fuel stations. The fuel transporters are on strike so there's no way for the fuel to reach the stations.

I also filled up yesterday. My car was on empty tho. Guess I was lucky. Hopefully this won't last long. I can only ride for about five days on a full tank. :(

Ah . . . better get me some go-go juice while the station still has some. :)

A station near Northgate said that they have just enuf to last until 2moro, or Sunday.

*sigh*

everyone wants to be a striker

*sigh*

East Coast radio has just announced that some service stations in the larger cities are running out of fuel. As a precaution they recommend that you fill up when your tank reaches quarter full.
BTW, the strike is over a wage dispute, they have been offered an 8.25% increase and they want 9.5%

Well then go to 9% and get it done and over with FFS!

I do hope that they reach a decision soon....good thing we are not travelling long distance anytime soon.

I've never been directly affected by all these bs strikes that have been taking place this year, but this one got me below the belt. I'm on reserve now and u know the Ben Schoeman traffic is crazy everyday, let alone Friday. I think I will need to be towed 2day or something.

I just could not happen at the worst of times. Some of us travel only on weekends, but with this, I guess my I'm sleeping by myself this whole weekend coz I can't go fetch my woman.

I go a full tank and drive less than 5km a day...
Anybody want to buy some go-go juice? :D
