PGTi potential!

Fitted my PD160 intake from the Seat Ibiza FR 118kw.

Wow!!!! NO turbo lag!!! Its amazing!!! I think my power curve got a bit rounder.
Why did VW just give us this intake standard:rolleyes:
Just nitpicking here, but the FR (5dr) is 96kW - the same as the Polo TDI. The Cupra (3dr) TDI is 118kW.

The Seat? Was 118kw atw, it had the 1.9TDi engine but with 118kw as opposed to the 96kw that the Polo had.
Still nitpicking - manufacturers quote flywheel outputs. That being said, the VW group don't seem to be particularly honest when quoting figures. They tend to under-quote quite severely.

enigma : don't bother trying to speak logic to JK8 when it comes to VW...

His Polo with minimal mods will slaughter a F430 just because some oke told him he could, and because he saw it on Youtube.

Oh yes its the TDi Cupra that 118kw. I like to think of the Cupra being the 1.8T.
Not sure if their 96kw had this intake... anyway.

Thats why I said wheel outputs, VWs make the claimed outputs of the manufacturer at the wheels most of the time. Mines is 120kw at the wheels, they quoted its 110kw... yes the dyno is a fair one.

What do you think with regards to the race between the 3.2 and 1.8T?

F430 is those big Ford trucks? Ye ill take him!:D

Haven't followed the thread, but what are you getting at? Modded vs stock (irrelevant which way - mods can accomplish stupid things) - dunno. Stock vs stock - depends on altitude... at sea level it won't be pretty for the 1.8T.

EDIT

And, just for the sake of completion, the 1.8T Cupra is 132kW...

Ok JK8...

You reckon you do 120kw on the wheels of your PGTi?

List the mods, and the age of your vehicle if you please.

I can't see the first video - but people are talking about a 6.3 to 100km/h and it's close to a Porsche 911 Turbo?

You do realise a 911 (996) Turbo is just over 4 seconds tested, right JK8? :/

So what is going on in the video I can't see? :(

Not much. Some chopstick with admittedly decent launch skillz jumps a couple of clearly less experienced okes on a 150m drag with his Polo GTI... and then proceeds to get ripped (obviously) by a 911 Turbo.

IWANTMYBANDWIDTHBACK!

Stock vs Stock+PD160 intake.

Errr ye I know the Seats 132kw... whats your point?
Didnt think ill get an obvious reply, but anyway...

Ye as per Snail, its 120kw atw. 18 months old + intake and 95 unleaded:p
All the PGtis I know off make over 118kw standard.

Nice site!!

Its a very quick PGTi, only R15000 mods, K04, DP, software and a few bit here and there. Takes on everything from Scoobies, Fords, VWs and Porsches, the 911 turbo is the only car that beat him. Its not 6.3s, ignore the crap text he added in the clip.
Some Aussie guy, PIG plates.

My POINT was that you seemingly are confused as to the outputs of the various petrol and diesel SEATs. If not, then see it as a point of clarity for others reading the thread.

Actually, the M5 also beats him - he admits as much in the comments on YouTube. Regardless, what use is a 150m drag, anyway? Do you think the little shopping trolley would stand much of a chance against the same competition over a 400m run? 1km maybe?

Indeed. ;)

A stock PGTi with a PD160 will NOT get anywhere NEAR 120kw on the wheels...

A PD160 will give you 1kw maybe 2kw extra....

Seat is out of the markets now... not hard to remember their outputs, its the same as VWs range... FR, Cupra, whats the difference....
(I know you gonna say silver mirrors and all that crap... Petrol, Diesel... yawn, I only care about some of the parts.):p

Its obvious the bigger engines will wake up at the 300m mark...

Got 120kw without the intake, only got the intake recently.
Its not even the best from the standard PGTis, some guys made 125kw!!
Lowest ive seen was 115kw.
The PGTi has a engine from the MK4 GTi 110, but the turbo from the MK4 132kw/MK5, K03s but with the map of a 110kw. With a chip alone you can get 150kw+. Yes I know what im saying dont argue!;)

xrapidx : The best I know is one of the guys at my office who is running a VERY aggresive map and has ramped up the boost quite drastically and he's getting about 150kw.. at the flywheel...

Kilowatt shmilowatt, just ran away from an A3 3.2 V6 quattro DSG!! Its '184kw' incase you wondering...
3 runs, all fair. Tapped off at 180. Maybe its sick, maybe I dont care! Maybe I recorded it:-D
Lol Dolbys gonna get a headache calculating this one!

Exactly, I'm getting around 181kw flywheel power now - 20% for drive train, which is 144.8wkw.

I've also dropped:
Golf 5 GTi
Golf 5 R32
Merc CLC V6 350
Pug

Some how don't see a PGti being a problem :)

Bring it!
In GP only though:o
