Phangiso reported for suspect action

Phangiso isn't the first nor will he be the last that gets called. The restriction have gotten a lot tougher in the last few years. Big names like narine and ajmal have been called while they had played for years without so much as a mention.

Also Engelbrech and Subrayen were called earlier this season as well so lets skip this bs of it just being targeted at african players.

Another lackey appointed by the Guptas...

Yeah, let's point the finger at someone else and disregard the fact that there is a proportionally skewed representation of the people of this country in it's national sports teams.

It's effectively saying white people are better cricketers or rugbyists than black people. While you are welcome to believe that, it isn't true, or right.

Let's stop all this racial BS right now.

What does the FACT of Phangiso's illegal bowling action have to do with race?

What does the FACT of Phangiso's illegal bowling action have to do with race?
Pw and the Minister believe black people should be held to lower standards than white people.

Technically nothing.

Does anything in this country escape the race issue?

I do apologise if I have derailed a thread, but we can't sweep the issues under the carpet.

Was the minister wrong for calling this a race issue? 100% yes.

Is there an issue with the lack of black people in the national teams? 100% yes.

You're a mod. Cut my posts and make a new thread if you will. There is an actual issue here. The kids aint gonna stop burning down the universities cause a handful of us whites dont want them to. There is a real issue in this country. We can pretend there isn't and make hay while the sun is up. But some day my kids have to live with this.

In cricket your children have FAR more opportunities right now than any historically advantaged person. The quotas at school, age group and every other level in cricket very distinctly favours players of colour. If you don't know this then you are extremely ignorant.

Cape Town - The independent re-assessment of the bowling action of Highveld Lions’ left-arm spinner, Aaron Phangiso, has found that his action for all deliveries is within the parameters as laid down by the International (ICC) regulations and his suspension from bowling in CSA competitions is thus lifted with immediate effect.

Phangiso’s bowling action was re-assessed on 7 March 2016.

Phangiso expressed his relief at having successfully remedied his action and passed the tests on Monday. He is now determined to be at his best for the World Twenty20.

"It's a huge relief to be cleared and to have my bowling action passed, it has been a tough and challenging few weeks for me,” he said.

“Many thanks to Cricket South Africa and the Proteas management for their support and for giving me the best opportunity of making it to India for the ICC World T20. In saying that, I'd really like to use the next few days ahead of the tournament to gain playing confidence, especially with some of the technical adjustments we have made to my action. My focus is on the World Cup and I'd really like to head into the competition with good form and confidence."

Proteas head coach, Russell Domingo, outlined the plan for Phangiso leading into the World Twenty20.

"We are really happy and relieved that Aaron has passed his re-test and he can now ready himself for the big tournament ahead,” he said. “I said at the beginning of the series that we wanted to give everyone in the squad an opportunity to play and while it is tempting to play him tomorrow, both Aaron and I feel it’s best that he takes a little more time to work on and gain confidence with his new adjustments. We have an important few weeks coming up in India so it's going to be important to have him in the right frame of mind both mentally and physically."

CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat, expressed his delight at the outcome of Phangiso’s re-assessment. “Of course I am delighted that Aaron is back in action and I applaud him and all the CSA and Proteas support staff who worked so hard to get him back on track. I wish him well in future.”

Seems he changed his action to pass the testing? If not, what adjustments are being referred to by Placido? It's a gamble to take him along without playing any competitive games, surely? I'd definitely pick him for the third Aussie game if he is in the frame for World T20 just to have a look even if we have to drop Tahir to the bench.

He is a mayor gamble but we know there is a lots of political pressure here. He has probably done enough to get past the test but there is issues whether he will go back to what he knows in a match situation where real pressure is.

I'd do that right now. Steyn will pull up injured in his run up.

But not really the point, is it?

You sound like a racist yourself. All that goes through your head just like the cANCer cronies is BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK BLACK.
