LOL you know what their twin TurboStar fat reducing technology is? Its a drip tray, LOL.
Probably could not patent it, because wait for it, its a drip tray. LOL
But hey the fools that fall for all these marketing crap needs a fancy name.

I mean the outside.

Can't quite figure out how the basket thing work and where all the fat and juices go. Is there a drip tray inside the air fryer?

Lol all that'll do is cook from the top as evident by this reviewer...
I find the oven works great when grilling, a bit disappointed though, tried to bake a chicken pie, the top gets done, while the bottom and side of the dough stays raw, maybe I'm not setting it correctly, but nothing in the instructions on baking

HUH the diagram shows the exact airflow as your Philips?
Your one random dude on a review is not very convincing. Very little info.
Reading it shows all the signs of someone that does not know how to cook. So its highly unlikely that he tried to bake a pie from scratch. Probably a pre cooked frozen garage pie/Piemans pie he tried to heat up. So my bet is he baked it in the aluminium tin of the pie. He also had the heat way to high so the open top of the pie got done quickly while little heat got little time to penetrate the aluminium tin. Throw in a cheap pie that is more sauce than anything else, and you get another @backstreetboy Struesbob fact.

Yeah no it just shows air swirling around. Won't even be hot air.

Again for the hundredth time on this thread. Please explain where will that tornado airflow go if you place a chicken or any other food in their way? Do you really think your airflow will look like that once you have food in there? Hell never mind food. Do you think once you placed your basked with all the metal and little holes, that your airflow will still look like that?

The lucky thing for you is that your airflow will be exactly the same as every other convection oven and air fryer without your magic starfish, up and down. around the food.
Because if it really worked like this illustration, You will have a little round hotspot at the centre bottom that will give you a burnt circle at the bottom of all the food you cook in it.

Yes they have been on the market years before your Philips was "invented" and are still selling.
Cheap? You can call it an air fryer just like your Philips convection oven and sell for same price.

I've got a Little Lovin Fan oven which I inherited from my Mom. I must try using it sometime again.

Tip of the Day:

I know. I did the same. :X3:

Maybe a couple of other tips for everyone.
Keeping your Philips XL Clean and some other Tips:

• To clean the Grid and Basket.

Just take out the basket holder and the basket/grid, leave the basket in the basket holder, pour some sunlight liquid in and fill it with very hot water and let it stand. You can then just use the back of a soggy sponge to clean the grid. Very easy!

• To clean your Philips airfryer and fan:

Yes! Your airfryer also needs to be cleaned. Take a torch and look at the element! Sies man!

Get a spray bottle, fill it with some sunlight and water. Put a dry cloth at the bottom to catch the dirt and water. Now use the spray and spray the element and top properly! Let it stand and repeat maybe with clean water (no soap). Dry everywhere you can reach and switch it on for 5 minutes (with the basket in!)

You can also turn your airfryer upside down and use a scrub to clean the element side. Switch it on a again afterwords for 5 minutes (with the basket in).

• The drawer for the Airfryer start to become a bit squeaky and tight over time.

Get a can of Q-20
View attachment 610266

Remove the basket and grid. Close the drawer. You will notice part of the rail/slider sticking out. Put a little bit of Q-20 in the slots. Magic!!!

• Cheesy and sloppy stuff on the grid (like those fillets with the sauce in):

Put some baking paper on the grid!!

• Instead of brushing food with oil, just put the chips or veggies in the basket, use spray and cook and spray it all!!!

Shake it and spray it, shake it and spray it!

Lol yeah no you won't since the heater sits at the top. Again you know nothing and are just speaking hogwash.

If only the top part was easy to remove and clean.
Yes tried to clean my "Safeway" the other day and it was 3 screws to clean everything at the top grill, element and the fan. But unfortunately the fan motor and bearings etc sits inside and looks nearly impossible to get at. But man there was a lot of burnt charcoal and oil there in the top.

Safeway in "" because I don't even own a Safeway, just gave a link one day here for someone where to buy one. Mine is so old, don't think Safeway made it yet. Think I paid R399 those days, don't think the name is visible anymore, probably a Salton or something even cheaper than Safeway.
