Philips Avance: Pasta Maker

thanks this is the response i was looking for not the response that nosensemakes said

and whats the cost of making fresh pasta

iv seen on cooking shows its mainly eggs salt and flour

do you need specific flour ?

It can use a variety of flours and grains - can also do gluten free options if that is you rthing.

As we also have a pizza oven at home and have donepizzas for around 18 years, we always have 00 flour on hand for pizzas. We have always used this for pasta too and like the pasta it produces.

My brother has been using the Eureka flours - he is also happy with the results.

On recipes, I prefer pasta with as much egg as possible - so my ratio is usually flour and eggs, with a small bit of water if needed to get the consistency right. You can work your own ratios depending on what you prefer though.

I think it just comes down to what flour you use.

Yes but sometimes the gluten is required in the pasta making process so some machines end up adding it. Otherwise the pasta won’t “stick”.

You can buy fresh from Woolies if you want a sense - pretty expensive though and not as good as eating what you made 30 minutes ago.

I bought it from them about 3 weeks ago. Have used it twice to make spaghetti and it works just fine. Following their ingredient ratio it's not quite the same as what I'm used to making manually so will have to play around some more. Can't beat the convenience though!

I'll disagree. I've used it, and hand made pasta is better tasting, and just as easy to make.

I have both - but tell me how often you handmake?

I handmake around once every two months or so - with this, once a week. So the ease of use, means you make fresh more often.
