This morning I wake up to find my Neotel phone device has crashed.
The LCD is all phucked up... like funny characters and such.
I can't seem to turn it off the normal way so I pull out the battery and put it back in and restart the phone and it's all good for now.

Interesting...

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Yip, this has happened a number of times to me. About a month to two months ago, when there was apparently an issue with the base station, it happened on a regular basis.

It hasn't happened recently though, but i am not sure whether this is due to the base station being fixed or due to me having a different device as i went through 3 devices trying to sort the problem out before they found out it was base station related.

I've had the same issue, but it's only happened 3 times since I joined Neotel so I generall ignore it. I think it's temperature related (at least with me it happened on really hot days).

Garbled display on neotel prime device

I too got this garbled display 2 days after I received my device. It would go bonkers every 5-7min.
Tried everything but no one could help. Eventually found that it was windows xp creating this error on the deivce. I reloaded windows and never had the prob again.

Mine has stopped doing it, but since I got it, I'm sure the software was updated (probably remotely somehow)

Mine happened to crash every 2 days basically, but yeah, it has stopped doing that now.

*touch wood*

Hi all,

This has started happening again, this time it's worse.
My phone crashes daily.
Every morning I wake up to find my PC trying to dial and a error saying there is a hardware failure.
I unplug the phone and turn it on and it's back to working (for now)

Sounds like you may need to swap that device out.

Your device seems to be exhibiting issues with the hardware. I will have to qury this with the techie - he is currently on the road, so your response may be delayed.

Ag, you know me, I'm patient.

What would be nice is when and if decided it's faulty, arranging to have it swopped out (bring me a new device and take this one back and throw it against a wall)

I will FREAK if I have to sit without internet again so I want to avoid this.

I didn't know that the Neotel device runs Windows!

:D

This used to happen to me occasionally. Maybe you should see if they can do a device swapout - must be something faulty if it happens so often.

B.

No

This has happen to me only twice, last year sometime and about 2 weeks ago.

Could be base station related!

My handset works like a charm, no problems with the device so far.

I've started unplugging my device (power) before I leave for work in the morning.
Basically restarting it, I don't even have the battery in, and it seems to have stopped the problem.

It happens every set time, like if it's on for 24 hours or so, then it hangs.
