It's been working better today though I had to reboot the phone once.

Your phone probably use AGPS — Assisted Global Positioning System — when you want your location from your phone. GPS radios use a lot of power, and unless they stay in constant use, it can take up to a minute each and every time you get new data. Since you usually want your location while on the move, that can be a burden.I have a five month old Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. I need GPS on a daily basis and for about the last week or so, the phone has been jumping and losing it's bearings. I have tried re-starting the phone and resetting the Google Maps settings several times and this has not worked.
Restarting it usually makes it get its bearings back for a few minutes before the issue only resurfaces.
I have yet to try factory resetting the phone as it will involve admin but will probably try that if nothing else works.
why would my ip address location be over 120 km from me as well any idea.im sure that is where the problem comes in .some days its even further away .Your phone probably use AGPS — Assisted Global Positioning System — when you want your location from your phone. The "A" in AGPS stands for assisted; your cell connection helps GPS find you.
AGPS adds cellular location data to assist geolocation. Your phone carrier knows where you are since your phone "pings" cell towers. How precise this is will depend on the strength of the signal between your phone and the tower, but it's usually good enough to be used for location data.
Software on your phone feeds this raw cellular location data to the GPS receiver, which will periodically switch between GPS data and cellular location to get a
very close approximation (within 50 meters or so) in real-time. In other words, GPS can use data collected by your phone from the cell site it is connected to in order to work faster and more accurately.
AGPS does send data out of your phone, but its data that was already being sent when it checks for cell towers in range. You're not charged for this, but you will need an active data plan to use AGPS.
Have you tried this, it just seems to work every single time man. No tinkering, no fuss, it just works.

Yeah if you are careless and walk around with your expensive phone in your hands you will be another statistic.I usually stick to budget phones but maybe my next will be a refurb iphone if not a OnePlus.
I had an almost brand new phone stolen from me in broad daylight before so another reason I don't like forking out a hefty sum of money on phones is because of the high risk of theft.
People get pickpocketed every day. Handbags get stolen every day. Almost everybody knows somebody who this happened to, or happened to themselves. Except you, of course.Yeah if you are careless and walk around with your expensive phone in your hands you will be another statistic.
Yeah that is because i am always aware of my surroundings, and i have a brain between my ears so i dont do dumb **** that will make me a victim. More people should try living like me, they would increase the quality of their lives drastically.People get pickpocketed every day. Handbags get stolen every day. Right. There must be some history about your online persona that I am not familiar with. We all know that is just user error. come on now.
Both my LGs went this way. First GPS, then Bluetooth and WiFi becomes sketchy, then when moving from one area to another you lose signal totally and it does not reconnect to the nearest tower.
