Phone SOMETIMES drops my connection

Has anyone else experienced this ...
When answering an incoming telephone call, my adsl line somtimes drops. There is no consistency in this. Filters are on both phones. This is sooo frustrating!!!

Hi DG,

You probably have the old filters.
You can ask Telkom to change them or it is easy enougth to make the mod yourself (but at your own risk).

Open the filter and you will see two large capacitors, one on each side of the board, just snap them off. That is what the Telkom tech did with mine and I have had no more problems.

I thought I had the same problem....old filters but when the techie came to my house he said that I had the new filters, the box is a cream coloured box (not sure what colour the old one was).

As it turned out the problem lay with my home security system that is connected in-line with my incoming phone line. So a bit of rewiring and the problem is now fixed.
