Phoning on a Data sim?

Pardon my ignorance,

I am in SA for a tour this week, roaming is chewing up my mobile account...

I bought me a 5gb data sim for my ipad at yon Vodacpm shoppe yesterday...

Surfing lekker on my trusty ipad device....

Was wondering, is it possible to use my ipad to send sms's to phones now?

Long shot, can I make phone calls on my ipad?

Nope, if you use whatsap and the other person has whatsap you can message and from recently phone them as well using data. The receiving side will also use data so just remember that.

Edit: your provider may let you sms from their online portal most SA ones do but not sure of the Namibia ones.

Use Skype or Viber to phone . You will need to load some credit into your Skype account
