Lemon Curd | Olympus E500 | F5.6 | 1/40s | ISO100 | 29mm | 09:58am

I loved the display of The Lemon Curd Lady’s products at her little yellow stall. Once a month here in Cape Town at the Blaauwklippen Stellenbosch winery venue, we take Jasper to go mingle with the Animal Welfare dogs who are brought out so that strangers can take them for a walk and possibly adopt an animal they might like.

Blaauwklippen, like many of the wine farms in the region, lends itself extremely well to photo opportunities if you are willing to get up early in the morning and catch the start of the day. I took some great shots of old cars and Harley Davidsons but this photo stood out most of all for me. According The Lemon Curd Lady’s pamphlet, she uses her great Grandmother’s old Yorkshire recipe to produce a curd made of butter, free range eggs, sugar and lemons. On top of that she’s made a granadilla curd we couldn’t resist and bought to try at home.

I put a heavy vignette on this photo to hide the horrible plastic chair that stood behind the display, something I realise I need to look out for next time but all in all, I am happy with the way the sunlight happened to break through the leaves and fall on these products to allow me to get this shot.

The family market is open every Sunday from 10am to 3pm to enjoy delicious food, interesting crafts and a variety of plants. If you’re looking a vibrant colour photo chance or a pet, head out at least once a month to walk one of the welfare dogs; who knows what what joy you might go home with.

Description: While I was on Holiday back in 2010, I had a old Samsung point and shoot camera. I cannot remember what model it was exactly. Woke up at 4 in the morning to go for a walk on the beach and took lots of photos of the sun rising. And then some of the waves, this photo still stands out to me as moments later the camera fell... I still have the camera but it's used as a paperweight now. Great memories these.

Jesus walked on water, the TBlaar did a handstand... :p

Can you please explain how we get the image to show in the posts? The button to insert an image only allows for a URL link to an image?

The attached photo was taken in Victoria West in the Northern Cape. I used my iPhone 4. While the photo doesn't have any significant artistry, I thought it to be quite a 'telling' photo because it describes the golfing conditions in this little Karoo town quite well. In the background on the so called fairway of this Oil-Green based golf course, you can see a kid chasing away the pigs because of oncoming golfers while another kid is scraping (in Afrikaans we say 'skraap die green') the green so previous golfers' tracks don't come in the way of whoever is gonna be putting soon.

Strangely, when I'm logged in I also only see the url, but when I log out I see the image in the post.
