I would like to set up a basic photographic studio. The subject of photography will be Lego sets. Nothing really big. Mostly objects that are about 15 - 30 cm in width and 30 - 25 cm in height.

The backdrop is to create ensure a "uniform" / smooth background - and something like this (might be slightly bigger than need):

- Floxi PVC vinyl backdrop + backdrop stands

The lighting needs to light up the subject adequately and eliminate shadows as much as possible. Something like this seems to generate good lighting:

- Photgraphic continuous photo video studio light kit - 1200W

Any recommendations or alternate ideas?

I have a similar light box to this :

Also using a light tent for this size of object, usually illuminated by a flash. This gives good overall lighting.

This works well for small objects.

Lit with a bunch of inexpensive clip on lights with LED bulbs. For jobs like this I prefer continuous lighting - helps to avoid unnecessary specular highlights and eliminate any unwanted shadows.

FWIW a bath tub also works well.
