Photos that changed the world

Very depressing, we have the capacity for so much anger and hate, remarkable that 90% of the pictures that changed the world is negative/violent, good deeds very seldom change the world it seems.

That is probably one of the most profound things I have heard you say. (No I am not dissing) actually being serious;)

Yeah, so true... you have to ponder (but perhaps we shouldn't as this is off topic and not philosophical debates! :)) whether this stems from the consumers desire to only see misfortune in the press or whether it is the press' desire to only cover bad news stories? I suppose it must be the former as the press merely panders to the demands of the buying public... sad really!

Hmmm, still considering if that is a compliment or not.....

Edit: Ok, I'll take it as a compliment, thank you!

True, they say the media is merely a mirror of society, says a lot for society then. But yea, it's not PB, I would not have posted if it was :)

I clicked the link with a level of uncertainty since you, no offense, tend to ruffle my feathers now and then.
I have seen the majority of these, but it's nice to have a collection with them all together.
It's strange how something so sad can be so beautiful at the same time.

Didn't get too far down the list, too disturbing. The Segregated water fountains pic stirred up memories for me.

Flip - those are some good photos, sort of reminded me of what had happened in South Africa couple of decade ago.

In remembrance of Ken Oosterbroek, I will share what I think changed some of south Africa

Those photos are amazing, such emotion captured in a single frame. It's very sad to see though. :(

Seen most of those photos before scattered all over the net... v v sad but incredibly moving at the same time.

Good deeds don't need to change the world, as it's right already. Happiness doesn't sell well, so you won't see many pictures of it.

Some powerful images there.

The way one moment in time can tell an entire story - it goes to show that video will never be able to replace photography.
