Photoshop CS4

Sorry i fear you have never worked on a 64 bit windows system then, i have used windows xp 64, vista 64 and windows 7 64, know many people who run 64 bit and i am not sure what your talking about crashing 54 times a day or even crashing at all.
I think he is referring to the 64bit version of Photoshop and not the actual OS.

All my work stations are running 64bit. I was refering to PS64 ;)

You will notice only a speed difference when working with really big files. Average files I work with are 250mb up to 750mb. There will be no speed differnce between 32/64bit when working with those files.
Open up 4 of them at the same time, off course the 64bit will pull away if 4gb or more ram is installed. But running 64-bit Photoshop all the time does have a significant disadvantage. There are only very few 3rd party filters compatible with 64-bit Photoshop. 64-bit is clearly the direction of the future, but I'm sticking to the 32bit version for now. If I really need the extra power for a job, I can always fire up the 64bit version, but for most image tasks, the 32bit version will do.
