Lately I've been using PHP more and more, but one problem remains, I don't have a good editor. I currently swop between MS FrontPage and Notepad. I've tried PHP Designer 2005 & 2006, but found them too bloated and not quick enough. Does anyone know of a decent/good PHP editor ? Perhaps one with Intellisense somehow ?

nusphere phped

EDIT: although I still use WordPad on windows and vi on linux (yes, vi - i am into self abuse!)
The best part of that, is I can edit code on a server using ssh.

I use VI mostly because everyone then thinks i am elite :D
And if i absoloutely have too ..... notepad ....

Ultra Edit or Multi Edit... as long as you have structuring and syntax highlighting, you should be fine! And PLEASE, throw that stupid Frontpage out of the window! :)

And I agree, for quick bug fixes, vi still is the best! :p

I hate notepad. it sux giant balls. Ultraedit, Vi or (if you really have to) Dreamweavers' Code editor

I normally just use vi, but if you need a GUI you could try eclipse with the PHP extensions.

UltraEdit here. I am considering swapping to BBEdit (mac) especially when I get my powerbook.

isn't eclipse a java based thing? I hate runnng java apps, unless I'm developing a Java app

I use Dreamweaver alongside Ultraedit - I'm still getting into PHP.

Odd that my coding has come full circle, from the old days hand coding HTML and a bit of Javascript, to WYSIWYG coding with Dreamweaver and now back to hand coding with CSS2 and some PHP.

Currently hurting my head badly, converting jshop (http://www.jshop.co.uk/) templates from old style tables to CSS2 and adding lots of custom features - Ultraedit has come in very handy.
