I enjoy both but I must admit I really miss the ability to easily look up words in the dictionary or wikipedia when reading a physical book. It's really convenient with my kindle and I look up words all the time. The other day I actually found myself automatically pushing down on a word in the paperback I was reading - doh :o

I love the feel of a physical book, and that is my preference. However, with the vast range of books available on Kindle and the good prices that they can be had for, i have quite a collection of e-books that i carry around on my tablet.

E-books for portability reasons. But nothing beats a shelf full of books. It's one of the most beautiful sights in the world.

E-books. Saves space and not super heavy to move. I always have a book on me, so I'm never bored.

I do have my favorites stashed in a book case though.

A buddy of mine says nothing beats physical books, e-books just doesn't work. According to him e-books are driving prices up in the industry. Physical books are also allot more convenient compared to a useless e-reader.

I should probably also mention that he uses it for smoking.

I've never thought of comparing the two or even imagined substituting one for the other. When travelling, I go for ebooks but I'll always feel wowed looking at my physical library. It's the edition/version that ticks. And the signature that matters!

I prefer physical books, mainly because my eyes strain a lot when I read on a normal screen for hours on end. Maybe I'll buy a device with a decent e-ink display in the future, though, the amount of reading I do doesn't really justify it.

Still like my Physical books

But are not buying as frequently as I use to....also space problems

e... because it keeps my place when I fall asleep :) Started with a kindle, then got tired of carting 2 devices around, so using the iPad Kindle app for mobi and iBooks for epub. Calibre for sorting out my formats obviously

Another advantage of kindle, if you're also an audible user, and have the same book on both audible and kindle, is that they often synch. You can continue on your kindle where you left off listening and vice versa. I've done that with a number of books where I listen in the car but prefer to read at home

both. real books are more portable and lighter than my tablet, while self-publishing indie authors use the ebook platform to great effect. so both, depending on what I feel like reading at the time.

Generally prefer physical for reference books (easier/faster to flip to a particular page) or graphic novels/comics (this could change if a decent colour e-ink type display became readily available).
For regular reading I prefer eBook, as it's more convenient when travelling - I now virtually carry several hundred books with me. Also some physical novels can be really awkward/uncomfortable to hold, like the Lord of the Rings all squished into one pocked size book (it's really more like a cube :p ).

For studying I prefer physical books. For novels and just general reading, I have become accustomed to e-books.

I do have more e-books than physical books due to weight restrictions when I travel.

i love physical books but wouldnt mind reading e-books ,if only they worked well on old smartphones! :(
