All I know is that the poor computer is what all the chances and DIYers blame when there's a problem they cannot figure out, of all the issues I have encountered and the ECU being blamed, not even one turned to be indeed a problem with the ECU, it's always something else.
Another fun fact is that most issues affecting cars are common between models, so there's usually no baffling mystery, but because some mechanics never went to school they cannot or don't even want to Google and end up blaming innocent components. The first thing I go to when I have a problem with my car is Google, not once has it failed me.
Think of Google as tapping into the experience of millions of people around the world, if a mechanic depends on the experience that he has gathered over the years as well as that of a few friends imagine what they can do with this massive database of information.
