Picanto engine lights

All I know is that the poor computer is what all the chances and DIYers blame when there's a problem they cannot figure out, of all the issues I have encountered and the ECU being blamed, not even one turned to be indeed a problem with the ECU, it's always something else.

Another fun fact is that most issues affecting cars are common between models, so there's usually no baffling mystery, but because some mechanics never went to school they cannot or don't even want to Google and end up blaming innocent components. The first thing I go to when I have a problem with my car is Google, not once has it failed me.

Think of Google as tapping into the experience of millions of people around the world, if a mechanic depends on the experience that he has gathered over the years as well as that of a few friends imagine what they can do with this massive database of information.

yip, was the ECU at the end,
Kia garage themselves and 3 different auto electricians couldn't diagnose it, because its built to break,
ECU box itself is glues together, so it cant be fixed. designed to break the Electronics, and make money for the dealership

me, Id start there, get a different ECU lock set complete and see if it helps.
I had the yellow key light not on but cranks.
(no spark, but Fuel, Air everything else)

another thing that helped funny enough was heat, if the ECU circuit board has a dry soldier inside it,
if you heat up the ECU box, with a hairdryer, there is a chance it might work perfectly.

we did that before I swapped lock set the last time, at least I could get to work.

try the simple things first, push/park the car into the sun,
remove the glove-box (or wherever the ECU sits)
in my case was on the passenger side behind the glove box

and heat the area up nicely and then try to start,
if it starts now, you have the dry joint problem, cant be fixed as the ECU is glued together and dismantling it will break the PCB inside.
(designed that way, to prevent repairs to the PCB and circuitry inside, planned obsalesence and all that).

then get a lockset, junkyard is your best bet,
Kia themselves will cost a fortune, more than the entire engine.

install said lockset, apparently will need somebody to help with the part of getting the lockset "approved"
and then it will start and run perfectly.
 
Hi, so an update. The issue was the ECU. Replaced the ECU, Lockset ect.. and all is good. Pretty expensive experiment.
