Pick local when you pay - union

Just because a product comes from overseas, does not make it automatically better. People still have to learn that.

And just because it's made locally, doesn't mean it has to be the same price or more expensive than imported equipment. Manufacturers/dealerships still have to learn that.

Sad thing is that there are so many chocolates better than Lindt (at similar price) out there in the world. So even for imported goods, we get a narrow selection AND then get shafted.

That was only and example... i do not like chocolates but i know the hubby would give teeth for lint.

Snob me? nah i do not think i'm beter i know i'm beter.:D

Then you have a way to control your hubber. :)

But yeah, sadly the world offers lots of variety. We get just a narrow spectrum of products here.

Thats true. You can't expect people to pay the same price as an imported item, and then complain if they choose the imported item over the local one. Our labour (and labour laws) does not help to lower prices though.

sigh at the idiots who "do not buy local because it is inferior".

We all WORK local - and therefore we are part of the production of LOCAL.
Calling SA products inferior is tantamount to saying that YOU suck at YOUR job.

In addition, SA milk or Chinese milk?

Imported goods are not better by virtue of being imported. Make a real decision.

True in a sense, but why are local products not cheaper than imported products? That is the problem.
