i got a newsletter this morning from a pick-up related site in which they announced that some of the guru's will be heading to South Africa to do a bootcamp in joburg from 6-8 feb. needless to say, i was super excited.

scrolling down i saw the pricing...
$2950 for the 3 day bootcamp!

holy crap. and that doesn't even include the reading material, videos/dvds or even accomodation and meals. it only covers the club entrance, VIP, limo hire and daily lectures before hitting the clubs with the gurus keeping an eye on you and helping you out here and there.

absolute madness.

but yeah, damn our economy.

You are kidding right? (Just about the excitement over some pickup 'guru's' coming to SA)

nope.
it's something i've found quite interesting and fun, and not only the obvious getting ass side of it but also the psychology behind it all.
i'd compare it to paul gilbert coming to teach a guitar workshop, tony hawk giving a skating bootcamp or some F1 driver coming for an advanced driving course or whatever.
and yes, i know it sounds lame but it's fun as hell

basically, they pick you up and give you a lecture on a few topics. you then practice and apply it that night when they pick you up and take you to an exclusive club/bar with the gurus keeping an eye on you and telling you what you're doing wrong. and then the circle begins again.
pretty much like what happens on the VH1 show "the pick-up artist", except without eliminations.

haha, thanks but i've already read more than i could ever care to remember...
from afc adam lyons to savoy and even zeb. even dipped a finger in ross jeffreys NLP stuff.
but yeah, you always want to get better when you feel you've been on the same level for ages.

No you don't, you just have to suck it up, approach a woman and say "Hi"

The rest should come natural. If it doesnt, try to watch other guys do it. You'll see they have a fun approach (and some an idiotic ******* approach cause they're drunk or whatever)

But most of the time the most perfect icebreaker would be "Hi"

This **** isn't as complicated as they make it out to be, seriously. How did your mom and dad meet? Probably not at a club...

You pick up 1 night stands at a club, you meet women you want for life at other social events. See the thread about handling breakup. If you live your own life and have it fulfilled by your own means then whoever you meet is nice.

So go do something you like. Join a church group or whatever. Donate your time to charity. Or just do your own thing, do a contiki tour with people in the same age group as you.... etc etc etc

I sometimes feel like a should just be looking for the one night stand thing... (please don't read this Gazer :p)

I've been trying that and online dating and all the girls I have been trying to hook up with over the post month or two just want to be friends or just say have no interest in me...

i had the same problem.

and yes, while i agree with acidrazor, i also disagree.
it's easy to meet girls, and a simple "hi" is all thats needed.
unfortunately, attracting the ones you want isn't always as easy, especially if you're socially awkward like i used to be.
 
Create interest. It really isn't difficult

a) don't give a **** what they say, flirt your ass off
b) don't tell them every little detail about you, if they ask, try and turn it around into another question for them to answer, don't go: Her: "So what do you do for fun?" and go ".... what do YOU do for fun?" (that might work sometimes like in 40 year old virgin but not always, women pick up on it so you have to spice it up)


If you keep getting her to talk to you about herself and flirt (non sexual flirt, don't say what you want to do with your peepee in her hoohoo) then you'll be fine. She'll realize after communication with you (this pertains to online dating) that she doesn't know **** about you yet but its so much fun talking to you that she just HAVE to meet you.

Beyond that point it doesn't really matter how you look like really (be decent!)

If you keep on flirting, keep on making it about themselves etc, you won't be the friend they always dreamt of because there will be some kind of mystery to you. And once in a while throw in something deep like.... what do you think the meaning of life is? etc

Or talk about religion (note talk, aka, get her to talk most of the time without showing what your own view points are until later)

If nothing else you improve yourself!

I saw the news a couple of days ago and was very excited Cajun and Tenmagnet is probably the best PUA's at the moment but the price is just way too expensive.

you have different types of bootcamps though, so for the different styles (direct, indirect, natural, NLP to name the most popular) as well as for different levels of competence... normally split between beginners and advanced.
