I need to some help getting a list of stuff for a picnic.
Can anyone suggest to get, hopefully ready made from Food Lovers, Woolworths or similar stores.

Meatballs
A nice cheese or two - like a piece of brie with a preserve or some cream cheese
Crackers
Little kebabs
Little sticks with cheese and pickles on - make them with toothpicks
Veggies like small tomatoes or cucumber sticks
Something sweet like those little puddings from Woolies
Jelly sweets
Choccie
Fruit salad
Whatever you like to drink - if you want to take wine, just make sure you are allowed to wherever you are going.

Just make sure it is stuff that is cleanish to eat ie chicken wings are a terrible idea and I don't know why people love them so much...

Not the whole list but those are the things I like to pick from :)

I recently made a Lebanese style picnic for my family. It went down very well. Fresh made pita bread, tsatsiki, meatballs, cucumber salad, hummus, etc.

+1. Fresh baked bread and the rest can be quite simple. Grill some veg, grill some meat, nice cheese, olives, tomatoes...would prefer that any day to a load of store-bought stuff. Unless it's a work/church/loadsapeople kinda thing you have to cater for then yeah - hit the stores :).

I'm thinking now of doing a valentine's day picnic with Mrsc. Thought of doing a cold roast beef with mixed assorted crisps from potatoes, butternut and sweet potato, a horseradish remoulade and coleslaw.

Pfh. Best thing for a picnic is a big pot breyani and rooties + curry, plus a bottle mainstay and fanta orange.

:D A remoulade is a specific kind of sauce that's generally made with Cajun style food as a kind of relish but I think it'll go nicely with the beef.
