You’re making me doubt myself. I’ve known about Magpie for many years as someone working at Pick n Pay once told me about them and Woolworths. And then about 2 years ago I found our new Checkers selling Magpie pies.

Even Kudu. The best Kudu pies are made just outside Jansenville at Thamela farmstall. Filled chock-a-block with nothing but delicious game meat ( no "gravy" or other adulterants) they are wholesomely good.Meet is meet. Horse, cow, dog, cat. Whatever


I was at a different Checkers to the usual one today and I noticed that they didn’t have Piemans like the others, they were all very interesting fillings like spinach, feta and chicken. Unfortunately it was lunchtime and there was a line I didn’t have time to stand in so I didn’t try any of them. Perhaps you are right but not all Checkers have them. Will go back soon.Have you tested?
