Pikitup on strike again?

I am going to be logging a billing dispute. This week will be week 4 of no collections. I refuse to pay.

And if they don't refund me, I will be investigating small claims court.

I feel fukkall for them.
We have police. We have an army. We have PLENTY of private security firms. And they can't protect these trucks?! Get the fck out of here.

People need to pull finger and start doing the fking jobs we pay them to do.

Chances are they'll arrest you for that. But not the thugs who wreak havoc upon the streets...
 
Pikitup is a private company contracted to CoJ. They don't hold up their end of the contract, every month or 2 there is another strike. Cancel it and get someone else to do it, more than enough people looking for work.

This afternoon, I was ranting about how we (the resident) have no choice when it comes to paying the monthly fee for refuse removal.

As a resident, I have no recourse for the service failure and I also don't have a choice as to which service provider I want to use.

Does anyone know "how a resident can log a dispute for non delivery of the refuse removal service from pick it up?"
 
I spke to my local dump. Had to unpack bin contents into bags and took it there.
No problem at the dump itself. Just a messy and smelly job.

No sympathy for Pikitup workers. They are f....ng up their own livelihood, just like the Post Office.
 
I see COJ has a refund process. Is this applicable to PIKITUP?
 
#Pikitup strike: 19 workers arrested

Johannesburg - At least 19 people have been arrested in connection with acts of intimidation and violence that have accompanied the illegal strike at waste removal agency Pikitup, Mayor Parks Tau said on Tuesday.

“Eleven of them were released due to insufficient evidence. The rest appeared in court and were granted R500 bail each.They face charges of public violence and attempted murder,” Tau said.

Tau said no arrests were yet made after the shooting of two Pikitup trucks that subsequently collided last week near Nasrec. No one was injured.

On Saturday, temporary workers were attacked in Alexandra during a clean up drive.

Pikitup said in a statement seven people were injured when a group attacked them. Another incident was reported at Cosmo City.

Tau said residents made a citizen’s arrest.

“In one of the cases, it appeared residents had had enough and carried out a citizen arrest of some of the attackers. This is the kind of anarchy that must be halted. However, residents are urged not to take the law into their own hands.”

How else, mate? The law is and should be in the hands of the citizens - who delegate it into the hands of armed wings of government.
It's our law and we'll do what we bloody well can with it, if you're not going to.
