Ping has DOUBLED within a week of getting it?!

Well I got 8ta this month to test it, and so far I have reaaaally mixed feellings.

It was great at first, (after the initial setup which was a real mission),
and I was getting pings under 40ms!

However, since friday, that wonderful ping has been DOUBLED, and worse:

Today (Monday): 80ms, http://www.pingtest.net/result/47542649.png

Saturday: 166ms, http://www.pingtest.net/result/47455017.png
Saturday: 136ms, http://www.pingtest.net/result/47455179.png

Didn't bother to test on sunday, was same as saturday

What's going on, 8ta?

Cellphone data will always have a high latency. Perhaps when you tried it before fewer people were using that cell.

Actually, It was always like that, anytime of the day, until the end of last week!

and Wow! 8TA was just unable to download for half an hour now... . I have 92% signal strength, it would connect, but lo and behold, 0KB's received!

Like i said network has gone belly up.... more and more people having problems! wonderful speeds and pings were short lived.

Those actually aren't bad pings considering it's gsm. Really.

Not being able to download...well, thats another story.

It seems the customer service at 8-ta is just as bad as its main holding company Telkom. an attempt to have a representative on this site to maintain that you are the same as the other ISP's yet you cannot answer the queries or even ask for the information to be forwarded onto you.

You just point him onto some email address of which probably is just as mundane and ineffective as the Telkom help line without any response.
