I'm on 384, billion 5102SM, IPCOP router.

Perhaps you have a virus.

I *am* having issues with certain international sites tonight tho.

Thanx thisgeek I think i may have solved the problem, it was virus related but not in the traditional sence! ;) my freaking symantec antivirus coprate was getting updates for all the pc's on my network!, well actualy
only once but it was 9mb at about 30kbps so it i think it was making me lag. looks fine now! So the lesson is don't have antivirus checking for updates whilst gaming!!
:D

Perhaps you shoulda done a tracert.. then you can see where the lag/long hops where. and if its before the router then...

Well I find it extrmely sad to say that my 56k dial-up more often than not beats my ADSL into the floor with a extremely hot 10 ton piece of spiky (no pun intended) titanium.

Sad to say that this is how it's gonna stay - I've heard rumors that Telkom will introduce competition for UUNET on unshaped connection at R120 per gig. Well that's just too high for me. :(

Prove where the problem liies

Telkom dont guarantee international bandwidth making the "net" the culprit.. Does this prove different???

See Telkom internal ping delay compared to international delays

Local delay in bandwidth is due to Telkom infrastructure or deliberate port shaping I believe limiting the bandwidth for future "expansion" ??

Telkom.co.za Note the delay of max peak 242ms within Telkom own infrastructure ??

See international bandwidth problem example

What is strange is that my TCPIQ speedtesting would go in a lul, . I then play with MTU, restore and this kicks the system in speedy peaks that will die off within short time. See link

I used visual route 2005 to check the ping problems Check the graphs above
