Pingtest.net survey

Are you sure your FW is setup right? Those results don't make sense?
Not 100% sure, will try establish a PPPoE connection directly from the PC another time.

Bielie above is correct about the packet loss test requiring a Java Runtime Environment, see here.

Although I do have one installed, it is not the one from Oracle.
$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_20"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.5) (6b20-1.9.5-0ubuntu1~10.04.1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode)

I tried this morning, first time with Firefox 3.6.13 and again it stalled at the 'Measuring Packet Loss' step, the second time I tried using Chromium 9.0.597.94 and it cleverly skipped the 'Measuring Packet Loss' step and went on to give me these results:

Server: Altech Technology Concepts
Line Quality: C
Ping: 108ms
Jitter: 47ms

Interestingly though, the Java test from here tells me my Java is working in both browsers.
Your Java configuration is as follows: Vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc. Version: Java SE 6 Update 20 Operating System: Linux 2.6.32-28-generic Architecture: amd64
