Pretoria - Paralympic star Oscar Pistorius will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, police said.

The 19-year-old, a friend of his, was allegedly fighting with her boyfriend during a small get-together on Saturday afternoon. Pistorius told them to go outside. She later returned to the house alone and allegedly started kicking the doors.

What the hell? If some chick came into my house and started breaking things I'd also try to forcefully remove her. The fact that she was injured just shows that she had no intention of leaving quietly.

I hope this doesn't go too far.

As for the police, they arrest someone for causing a little bruising on what must have been an unruly and possible drunk teenager, yet people are being shot and hijacked everyday. Soft targets, that all.

I hope Pistorius charges her.

The report I read was that a panel in the door that she was kicking fell out when Pistorius slammed the door, and this panel hit her on the legs leaving bruises.

Law is following its course, the judge will hopefuly throw the case out on Wednesday. It was the arresting officer who really should've looked at the situation properly before carrying out the charges.

Two thoughts:
1. Never let the truth stand in the way of a good headline - seems to be a storm in a teacup.
2. Justice for his frankly pathetic tantrums to be allowed to 'run' in the IAAF competitions. I admire the guy, but they separate paralympic and normal competitors for a reason.

At the risk of being completely tactless - why doesn't he compete in the female events? I am sure that ASA would argue that because he doesn't completely look like a man he must be a girl.

And I do apologise for both the derailment and what will be seen as insensitivity by some.

She may have called the police screaming blue murder.I don't think we should judge the police, just her.

Athlete identification FAIL!
We're talking about Oscar Pistorius, not Semenya... :p

Oh and  for your misdirected derailment AND insensitivity. Now, go to bed. You obviously need some rest...

I sense media sensationalism

Oh FFS. Where?

Pistorius was already arrested and had already spent the night in jail before this ever hit the headlines. The media has just reported on what happened which is, after all, their job.
