Melrose Arch has expanded its shopping centre and restaurants and we had dinner at Piza & Vino last night.

I can definitely recommend it! Their pizza is DIVINE. Better than Col Cacchios; real rustic Italian cooking, so if you get a chance, give it a try :)

haha, Okay found your Vino thread. Didn't seem to generate too much interest. I'm sure more forumites would have discovered Vino's by now though.

I enjoy their Pev Polpette too, meatballs!!! Very nice...

Sounds good. Their pizza topping are quite 'different', not so?

And they have a salad with artichokes, cheese, balsamic reduction, etc that is very good.
Indeed, wouldn't think Kleftico would work as a topping but it does (Pizza Re I think it's called). I like how they add fresh Basil and Coriander leaves to their Pizza's, very fancy...

Tasha's make great salads too, bit of a posers joll though...

Do you fall into that category?:)

Heavens no. I look down my nose at posers :)

The first - and last time - we went to Tashas at Melrose, they did not have a liquor license (yet?). We promptly left, never to return. You do not open a restaurant in a spot like that if all your ducks are not in a row !

Romans pizza! Extremely uncultivated and unsophisticated and pure deliciousness. One of the few things I like about the Americans; what they did to pizza.

As for Vino, try L'Ormarins and Rupert&Rothshchild. You could try mortaging your soul for some Rothschild out of the Bordeaux in France. It comes at a price.

I disagree. A cheap Pinotage from Beyerskloof is an excellent choice. Tokara also does some excellent stuff with their white varietals for between R50.00 and R80.00.

Ok. I vote Sprite + Steers.

:o

Pizza sounds soo good right now..
:(

I find I prefer 7Up to Sprite lately. It has a more rounded flavour and goes well with a Nando's mild Peri-Peri burger*

*This post was brought to you by Pepsico and Nandos. Great combinations for life ®,©,TM,PTY,LTD,etc.
