Pizza on the Weber!

Completely covered as in buried under about about half a meter of earth...

It will have a chimney and opening of course, them goes without saying.

Gonna be a bitch to get them in an out. Best to have it at eye level...

Cash would of course change hands.. he will be charged for the pleasure of my semi-traitorous presence... possibly less than for your completely traitorous presence, but still.

I put pineapple on my pizza.

That usually gets me uninvited to most pizza parties...:D

Under the half meter of earth, it will be at about eye-level :) buried inside a wall that will be a relatively high retaining wall... I'm digging out about 40 or 50 tonnes of earth to give me a more level garden.

To give you an idea.. here is a snippet from my plans.

The blue circle is where I am contemplating putting a pizza oven, next to the braai which will be built in.

The dough will dry out before it's cooked. Secret to good bases is that the stone must be blazing hot before the pizza goes on...

Mmm then blazing hot stone and fire, lid closed untill you drop in the pizza, then keep closed till pizza is cooked. I am sure it will if nothing else, be tastier than the microwaved version :p

Dig a chimney in there and you're golden. Better hope the heat doesn't screw with the soil though...

Oh it will be tastier. But to give you an idea, the ovens are around 700C iirc and you're just not gonna get that in the Weber, well not the convection currents at least. The moment you open that lid the heat is gone, and it takes a good 10 seconds to position the pizza on there properly. I know, I've tried it in the kettle braai...

And by dough he means cash, bunnyboi.

:D No no no, I actually have a frigging awesome dough recipe (god have mercy on you if you don't have a decent mixer with a dough hook). I like my base thin & crispy and after some googling & experimenting I have the best dough on the planet.

If there was to be any payment involved I would settle for a bottle or two of red wine :D

Haha ok :D I will settle for better than store bought / debonairs / romans :D

O and we can get the heat back faster than you might think :p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sab2Ltm1WcM
